About Mark Davis, Ph.D.

Mark Davis Ph.D. has over 25 years of experience teaching, supervising, and practicing as a marriage and family therapist and educator. He is a full professor of Psychology and has served as Department Chair and Director of a Master’s level Counseling Psychology program. He is a small business owner and a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist Supervisor. He has taught a variety of courses including marriage and family, family systems, psycho-pharmacology, substance abuse counseling, group counseling, sports psychology, motivation, human sexuality, and consumer psychology.
Dr. Davis is an expert in interpersonal relationships, diagnosis, and treatment. He has written articles for several nationally recognized publications and has conducted workshops and training programs for a wide variety of businesses and agencies. He has been honored as a University Distinguished Teaching and Service Award winner and has received numerous other honors and recognitions. As a presenter and educator, he has been described as passionate, enthusiastic, energetic, entertaining, and knowledgeable.
He is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). He earned his Ph.D. in Counseling from Oklahoma State University and his Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. He and his wife live in Alva, Oklahoma. When they are not working, they spend as much time as possible at their home on Marco Island, Florida.
